A diagnosis can't spend more of your credits than you agree to. Two limits work together.
Spending checkpoints
Every diagnosis works in steps of half a credit (0.5), whatever Mode you chose. When it is about to go past the step it pauses and shows a card:
You've spent 0.48 of 0.50 credits. Continue for another 0.50?
- Continue (0.50 more) gives it another half credit and it carries on where it paused. It may ask again at the next checkpoint.
- Stop here ends the diagnosis with what it has found so far.
Nothing more is spent while the card is waiting. Most diagnoses finish before the first checkpoint and never ask.
Daily spending limit
In Settings, under Diagnosing, Daily spending limit sets the most your diagnoses can spend in a day. It starts at 5 credits a day. Enter an amount from 0.1 to 100 credits and press Save. The day resets at midnight UTC.
When you reach it:
- A new diagnosis won't start. The app says You've reached today's spending limit. It resets at midnight UTC. with a Spending limit button that opens Settings.
- A diagnosis already running ends with the same notice.
The limit protects your balance from a mistake, such as a run you forgot about. Raise it whenever you need to.
Enough credits to begin
A diagnosis only starts if your balance covers its first half credit. See How credits work. If your balance runs out part-way through, the diagnosis stops with Stopped: your credit balance ran out. Top up to continue.
If a diagnosis fails or you cancel
| What happened | What you pay |
|---|---|
| It fails or times out because of a problem on our side or with your connection | Not charged in full. |
| You cancel | The work done so far. |
| You leave a question unanswered and it expires | The work done before it asked. |
Refunds are limited to protect everyone from abuse, so a very large run or several failures in one day may not be refunded in full. If you think you were charged unfairly, email support@diagnosly.app with roughly when it happened.
